Black Grace is New Zealand slang for daring and bravery. Embodying these qualities has placed this all male dance group at the forefront of Pacific Contemporary Dance. Ieremia creates his dances drawing on images like the Pe’a, a traditional Samoan tattoo covering half the body.  The last time they performed at Leeward, their piece inspired by the traditional Samoan slap dance, Fa’ataupati, brought the house down.
