The first Westerner to be acknowledged a master of classical Japanese drumming, Kenny Endo is reviving some of his early masterworks as part of the NEA American Masterpieces program. Performing with Endo in this retrospective is Kiyohiko Semba; a Japanese master percussionist held in high esteem for his virtuosity, violinist Takahashi Kaori, bamboo flautist Kaoru Watanabe and dancer/choreographer Miho Morinoue.
This project has been made possible by American
Masterpieces: Three Centuries of Artistic Genius, a major initiative of the National Endowment for the
Arts, and is recognized as an American masterwork
